Course Objectives:

  1. How to make treatments more accurate and more efficient using an all-digital workflow for single tooth implant crowns
  2. Treatment planning and diagnosing for endodontics.
  3. Know how to decide between retreatment and apicoectomy.
  4. Know when to decide between endodontic retreatment/build-up/crown lengthening/crown vs. extraction/implant placement.
  5. Understand the importance of keratinized gingiva around teeth and implants.
  6. Determine whether a tooth should have soft tissue treatment vs. class V composite.

Presenter:   

Dr. Amy Ridall received her dental degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dentistry. Following graduation, she earned an MS in Oral Biology from SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Ridall was then awarded an Individual Dental Scientist Award from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial research to support her combined training in Prosthodontics and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Ridall is currently an Assistant Professor and the Director of Implant Dentistry at the UT Health Houston, School of Dentistry. In addition, she maintains a private practice in Houston, TX. She has taught courses for ZimVie since 2004.

Dr. Rosalie Nguyen received her dental training at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2010 and obtained her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2014. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Nguyen moved to Houston, Texas to attend The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry where she obtained her Master of Science in Periodontics. She is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, specializing in periodontics and dental implant surgery. During her residency, Dr. Nguyen focused heavily on her research and studied risk factors associated with dental implant failures. She currently holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry covering the periodontal residents, associate periodontist at Dental Specialist of Westchase, and associate periodontist at Adore Dentistry in the Heights, a biological dental office.

Dr. Joyce Nazzal moved to Texas in 1999 and obtained her B.S. in Biology from University of Texas – Arlington in 2003. In 2007, Dr. Nazzal earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch in Houston, Texas. She completed a one-year hospital residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and received a General Practice Residency certification. After practicing general dentistry in Houston for a few years, Dr. Nazzal pursued her passion for endodontics and was accepted to the Indiana University School of Dentistry fellowship program. She completed the two-year endodontics program in 2011 and received a Master of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Nazzal subsequently returned to Houston, where she has been in private practice for ten years. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association and American Association of Endodontics, and she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. Nazzal maintains a strong commitment to continued education in endodontics. In addition to growing her practice, she is married with two beautiful children and enjoys spending time with her family. She has a passion for the arts, especially oil painting, fitness, and travel.
