 Course Objectives:

1. Create open discussion for complex cases.
2. Identify different approaches to complex from a multidisciplinary approach.
3. Learn new techniques available from oral / maxillofacial surgery research.
4. Provide principles / background regarding OMFS approaches.

Presenter:   

Dr. Steve Koo is a full partner of Piney Point Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, P.A. and has been in private practice over a decade. Dr. Steve Koo is a Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Hermann at Memorial City and is a specialty reviewer for the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.  He also previously served on the Board of Directors for Greater Houston Dental Society and was currently the president of Houston Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He is also on UT Houston Development Board for UT Houston.

Dr. Koo does full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery but has a special interest in dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, pathology, cosmetic and sleep apnea surgery.  Dr. Steve Koo completed his bachelors and master of chemical engineering degree at University of Texas at Austin.  Dr. Steve Koo then completed both his DDS degree and residency at University of Texas Dental School at Houston.  As a dental student and as a resident, Dr. Koo has been active in research in areas of bone regeneration.  Dr. Koo has been also active in dental/ medical missions as part of Border Missions, a nonprofit organization and traveled extensively to Mexico and South America and Operation Smile.  He maintains membership at AAOMS, ADA, TDA, and Greater Houston Dental Society.  He also currently maintains hospital privileges at Memorial Hermann at Memorial City, the Methodist Hospital (TMC) and West Houston Medical Center.
