  2. Understand how and when to use PMP Aware
  3. Understand the impact of opioid addiction in the workplace and in matters of public health
  4. Recognize the signs and symptoms of opioid use abuse
  5. Understand how to treat opioid overdose

Presenter:  Dr. Ali Sajadi

Ali Sajadi, DDS, MSD, is a board-certified periodontist and oral and implant surgeon serving the Northwest, Southwest, North Houston and Montgomery County, Texas areas. Born and raised in Houston, TX, he is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontics, Texas Society of Periodontists, Greater Houston Dental Society, Greater Houston Periodontal Society, American Dental Association, and the Southwest Society of Periodontists. He also serves as a Professor at UTHealth Sciences Center at Houston, board member to the Southwest Society of Periodontists, past president of the Greater Houston Society of Periodontists, local and national lecturer, and a pioneer in the collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. His training and background make him highly qualified to treat extensive and complex surgical cases. Additionally, Dr. Sajadi has received a number of leadership and excellence awards during his career and practices in the areas of facial esthetics, periodontics, oral and dental implant surgery.

Presenter:  Dr. Jennifer Wu

Jennifer Wu, MD, MBA, is a board-certified physician anesthesiologist. She received a BA in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA at the University of Houston Clear Lake. She studied medicine at St. George’s University and completed her residency in Anesthesiology at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City, NY. She provides both office based and ambulatory anesthesia in the greater Houston area. Dr. Wu is a recognized leader in her field. She lectures at the UT dental and UT medical schools and speaks at national academic conferences. She has authored multiple textbook chapters on anesthesia safety and emergency preparedness. She is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and serves on the ASA Anesthesia Care Team Committee.
