Greater Houston Dental Society
The Greater Houston Dental Society is the local component of the Texas Dental Association (TDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA).

Texas Dental Association
The Texas Dental Association (TDA), chartered in 1871, is the third largest state dental association in the United States. Currently, the Association has more than 7,700 members and is comprised of 26 component dental societies grouped into four divisions across the state of Texas. The TDA is part of a tri-partite affiliation with the American Dental Association as its national representative and its component societies at the local level.
Academy of General Dentistry
The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is the only organization exclusively dedicated to serving the needs and interests of the general dentist. Founded in 1952, the AGD has grown to become the world’s second largest dental association.
Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
The SBDE is a member of the Western Regional Examining Board (since 1994). WREB administers the clinical examination for those persons seeking to obtain a dental or dental hygiene license in Texas.
HIPAA
The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives patients an array of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes.
